All the food your family eats. The way you eat it.
Your chili, your way. The Trader Joe's samosas your partner likes best. The cheese that makes raclette night. The drive-through order with all the extras. Living Recipes keeps it all in one place, and it grows with your family.
Recipes for your life. In development for iPhone and iPad, launching spring 2027.
Join the waitlistEvery meal has a recipe. Even the McDonald's order.
A recipe isn't only something you cook. It is how your family eats a thing: the chili with half the beans, the frozen lasagna at 375 for 55 minutes, the pizza order with extra olives on one half that you keep warm in the oven at 180 F if the kids aren't ready yet, the dish you always get at your favorite restaurant.
Today that lives in the Notes app, in screenshots, in text threads, in the margins of cookbooks and in someone's head. Living Recipes brings it together, and keeps it alive.
What it does
-
Your family's version comes first
Every time you cook, it learns: less sugar, ten more minutes, the kids' portion pulled out early. The original and every change are one tap away.
-
All your food, in one place
Recipes, store-bought favorites, frozen batches, takeout orders, the restaurants you go back to, and the little notes that matter: which cheese, which brand, which store.
-
The way your family eats
Who loves it, who picks out the onions, whose portion is smaller. Everyone at your table has a place on every dish.
-
A week you pull from
Not a list of recipes. Tonight's chili, the frozen batch from two Sundays ago, pizza night ordered your way, date night at your favorite place, nuggets for the kids. Your partner can say yes or swap by text.
-
Grandma's cards, kept and cookable
Photograph handwritten cards and cookbook pages. You check what we read, and the original photo stays attached.
-
Simple for everyone, deep for the curious
It guides you and never shows a blank page. If you want more: grams, real cook times, and your whole food life as plain Markdown files for Obsidian or your AI tools.
Three promises
- Pay once for the whole household. No subscription for your own food.
- It's yours. Export everything, any time. The app works offline.
- Quiet. No ads, no feed, no diet talk.
Why we are building it
We are Living Recipes, and it started in our own kitchen. We feed a family of seven. Since March 2023 we have kept everything in plain notes: 180 recipes rewritten the way we cook them, a plan for every week, the freezer, the McDonald's order, the cheese for raclette. The system grew into a second brain for food: the note structure converged, the routines got simpler. Living Recipes is that system, made easy for every family.
